Debenham & Freebody, the department store, had numerous antique departments within the store; in 1909 for example, the lower ground floor contained departments for 'antiques', and 'old glass', and the ground floor contained a section for 'antique lace'. In 1923 the antiques department was moved to Welbeck Street, London.
