Mark Westgarth Antiques began trading in Lynton, North Devon in 1983; prior to this he began his antique dealing career working for the London dealers A.Roch & Sons, 99 Crawford Street, in the early 1980s. Westgarth Antiques relocated to High Street Honiton in 1989-92, before trading from home at Juniper Cottage, Lynton in 1992-94. He ceased trading in 1994 and undertook a BA degree in History of Fine and Decorative Art at Leeds University in 1995; he went on to study for an MA and PhD, and has been an academic at the University of Leeds since c.2007.
