Isaac Ramus (1827-1901) was the son of Jacob Ramus (1794-1837), and established himself as 'Dealer in Works of Art' in Oxford Street, London in the 1850s. His business was continued by his sons, Jacob Alfred Ramus (1858-1947) and Albert Isaac Ramus (1864-1949) after 1901, at 86 and 87 Piccadilly, London as 'Ramus Bros, Dealers in Works of Art' (information kindly supplied by Andy Ramus). An Edwardian cylinder bureau with a paper label 'Ramus Bros, Dealers in Works of Art, 186 Piccadilly, W.' was sold at auctioneers Woolley & Wallis in July 2010.
