Antique Dealers: the British Antique Trade in the 20th Century

Clarence L. Pickard

Clarence L. Pickard was, according to their own publicity, established in 1900. Pickard may have inherited a new and second-hand furniture business from his father. 'Pickard' snr. traded from 59 Albion Street, Leeds in the 1870s; a fire was recorded in Pickard's premises at Albion Street in 1880, at which the insurance loss adjustor stated that the premises contained, 'new and second hand furniture'; the loss amounted to £355.0.0.
