D. Sherratt & Company were established in the 19th century in Chester - according to their own publicity they were founded in 1855. They sold several items of antique furniture to William Hesketh Lever, 1st Lord Leverhulme during the period prior to WWI. The business went bankrupt in 1935 when their stock of antiques was sold at auction by Brown & Brown, Liverpool.
