Daniel Thomas Sainsbury (1877-1958) began business as a builder, and according to their own publicity were established as antique dealers in 1906. His sons, Montague E. Sainsbury (1905-1998) and Clarence F. Sainsbury (1910-1975) also traded as antiques dealers.
