Antique Dealers: the British Antique Trade in the 20th Century

W. Williamson and Sons

William Williamson, antique furniture dealers, suggest in their advertisements that they were established in 1760 - this is probably as cabinetmakers rather than antique dealers. The held a Royal Warrant in the late 1920s; in 1929 their advertisements state that antiques were 'displayed in Periods and Uncrowded'.  By 1950 the business was run by F.H. Boys. The business closed in 1959.
