George Quantrell established an 'antique furniture' business by at least the late 1860s, trading in Wardour Street, London. The business was continued by his sons, Alfred and Sidney Quantrell in the 1890s. Quantrell were major dealers in panelled rooms and chimney pieces by the opening decades of the 20th century. The business seems to have closed in 1934, when they advertised a 'closing down sale' in Apollo (October 1934).
