M. Turpin

Maurice 'Dick' Turpin (1928-2005) was a leading dealer in English Furniture, trading from various locations in London during the 1950s until his death in 2005. He was born in 1928, in Bow, East London, the son of a fruit seller; he trained as an engineer before entering the antique trade, first as a 'runner' during the late 1940s, before opening his first shop in Old Brompton Road, London.

The auction sale of the remaining stock and personal collection of M. Turpin took place at Christie's, London, 'The Legend of Dick Turpin' on 9th and 14th March 2006.
