Ovens & Son suggest in their advertisement of 1905 that they had been established '75 years' - they may be related to the well-known dealer 'Mrs Oven's, who trading in the 1860s in High Street, Cirencester, and was visited in 1864 by J.C. Robinson of the South Kensington Museum. According to their advertisements in 1905 their showrooms 'covered more than an acre'.
