G.A. Turner purchased the antique business begun by Fred Skull at Bassetbury Lane Mill when Skull retired in 1943. Turner appears to have started as an antique dealer in Cookham, Berkshire, before buying Bassetbury Lane Mill, carrying on the two businesses until 1949, when he sold the Cookham shop to Col. Bazeley.
