S.W. Wolsey

Samuel Wilfred Wolsey (c.1895-1980) was a leading dealer specialising in antique oak furniture, trading with his brother. Samuel Wolsey retired from business in 1969, and he died on 1st October 1980. Wolsey assembled a large collection of photographs of the stick that he traded in over the course of 50 years; many of the photographs of his stock were used as illustrations for his publication on early furniture - Wolsey and Luff, Furniture in England, the Age of the Joiner, (1968). The business was established in 1923, and re-established in 1931.

S.W. Wolsey was elected president of the BADA in 1942.
