C. J. Charles

C.J. Charles was the trading name of Charles Joel Duveen (1871-1940), the brother of Joseph Duveen (1869-1939). Charles Duveen died in New York on 21st July 1940. H.F. Dawson was listed as a partner in 1914. Joseph Duveen allegedly paid his brother Charles £1,000 p.a. not to use the name 'Duveen' for his antiques business.
