John de Haan

Johannes (John) de Haan (1872-1931), a trained cabinetmaker, began as a restorer of antique furniture from premises at 7 Percy Street, London in 1904. The business expanded during the opening quarter of the 20th century, eventually employing over 40 cabinetmakers and French polishers. His son, Cornelius (Joe) de Hann (1896-1980) joined the business in 1920, and became known as 'the Barometer King'. Joe's son, John de Haan (1925-2018) joined the business in 1946. James (1956-1995) joined the firm in 1974, and John (jnr) (b.1962) joined the firm in 1989.
